If you got the ”seasonal” blues, we are the folks to talk with! Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is caused by excessive melotonin build up. Light going through the eye and stimulating the pineal gland is the cure!

You may find it surprising that, most of our “patients” are dairy cows. The same excessive hormones that cause winter depression suppress milk production in cattle. Heifers exposed to light put on more lean muscle mass and less fat.

Interestingly, most of our farmers get spoiled by having good lighting in the barn, so they come to us to help them light up their houses! You simply feel better under good lighting.

We think that many lights sold for SAD on Ebay are scams. I am quite sure you could stick your head inside some of the light boxes sold on Ebay and never get the 10,000 lx of light claimed.

This is a great disservice to those who really need light treatments. These particular bulbs make a total of room lamp makes a total of 5400 lumens of light. That’s about 56% of the output of our most powerful 10,000+ lux SAD light.  So these compact fluorescents are best used to provide bright white light through out the house where you can get long term exposure to light.

Natural White Light Makes Everything Better

The best new lighting simulates Sunshine. Many studies have correlated academic performance with natural lighting.

Studies at elementary schools in Wetaskiwin, Alberta by Dr. Harry Wohlfarth show higher combined academic and IQ test scores attributable to full spectrum lighting. (The International Journal of Biosocial Research, 5 no.1,6 no. 1,7 no. 1)

In 1981, Wohlfarth and Cathrine Sam conducted a studied children with severe behavior problems and physical handicaps at Elves Memorial Child Development Center (Edmonton,Alberta). Both room colors and lighting was changed. Systolic blood pressure was reduced 20 points and children were less aggressive. When cool white tubes were reinstalled, blood pressure went up and behavior problems resurfaced.

In another study, Dr. Fritz Hollwich examined stress levels as measured by the stress hormones ACTH and cortisol. This hormones were present in substantial quantities in individuals sitting under cool white lights but absent from those sitting under sunlight simulating fluorescents.

Similar research was conducted in the UK and reported by Lancet, the British Medical Journal.

These are Premium Fluorescents.

These lamps use the best phosphor, the Japanese made Nichea Tri-Phosphor. Bulbs made with the Nichea Phosphors stay brighter longer and make accurate, high color temperature light. A new (patent pending) aluminum oxide coating is applied to the glass tubes before the phosphor is applied. (This is like priming a surface before painting.) The result is a staggering 10% further increase in light level maintenance. My customers tell me that they can really tell the difference.

Halo Phosphor, which at the moment is being used in many cheap imports, has very poor color and a very steep drop-off in light levels maintenance. (This compact fluorescents are a throwback to the time when people hated compact fluorescents because of their awful color and low light output.)

These are LONG LASTING bulbs. We Stake our Reputation on it!

You can’t sell crummy product and keep customers. We have noticed that compact fluorescents have really been cheapened. Sure, they may say that the bulbs have a 6,000 hour, or maybe even a 10,000 hour life. But the truth is that customers say they have problems with competitor’s bulbs burning out after just a couple of months.

We have 1000’s of this manufacturer’s bulbs installed nation wide in agricultural buildings. They usually run 10-16 hours in the harshest conditions. It’s nice to hear farmers say that after almost 2 years, they have not lost a single bulb to premature failure!

That’s why many local farm supply and hardware stores stock our bulbs for resale! Farmers know what they are looking for, and they want our bulbs!

Need to Double Your Light?

Every once in a while you see jumbo size “compact” fluorescents. These Big Honking Tubes are hard to fit inside fixtures and such fat tube fluorescents are not as efficient.

What I recommend is using a Y-Adaptor to put two bulbs in one socket. (Two of our compact fluorescents make 3600 lumens using only 50 watts total and last 10,000 hours . A big honking 55 watt compact only makes 3300 lumens and only lasts 6000 hours)

USPS Parcel Post – includes delivery confirmation.  The USPS website states this takes 2-9 days in the Continental US and up to 11 days for AK/HI – on average. (We only ship AK/HI via USPS services.) (We use either Fedex or USPS Parcel for free delivery method – our choice.)

USPS Priority Mail – includes delivery confirmation and the site states it takes 2 days to most areas with some being 3 days.  To be on the safe side, especially during busy seasons, allow up to 4-5 days for this method. (You may upgrade to this service – see below.)

International Shipments – (CANADA)

USPS First Class International Mail – The USPS site doesn’t state a delivery time frame for this method.  It is safe to say that you would be able to expect anywhere from 7-21 days minimum. (Only available for packages weighing 4 lbs or less).

USPS International Priority Mail – The USPS site states that the delivery time on this service is 6-10 days. 

All International Shipments via USPS have no tracking capability.
